Hotel Windrow
I have to say I thought I knew….But, I did not..
I had the pleasure of witnessing the construction of this hotel from the ground up, surrounded by an atmosphere of excitement. The establishment of a boutique hotel in downtown Ellensburg had been a long time coming. They opened in 2020. And here we are in 2024 and they are proving themselves to everyone. I think Ellensburg needed this place.
While I had frequented events, the rooftop bar, and conferences at this location, I had never had the chance to stay here until now. Why would I, I Live here. That is the wrong attitude I now know. Having a night to myself in a swanky hotel, YES PLEASE! My experience has been nothing short of exceptional. The seamless integration of the hotel into the historic Elks building, with original features such as the brick walls in some rooms, demonstrates a clever utilization of Ellensburg's rich history.
The grand staircase leading up to the ballroom within the Elks building is truly magnificent, a testament to the thoughtful design that characterizes this establishment. Think about that place to host an event.
The rooftop space offers breathtaking views of Ellensburg, if it's a sunny day it's a great place to chill and unwind making it a must-visit. With cozy seating and firepits.
When you step into the hotel, guests are greeted by the welcoming ambiance of the Elks Kitchen & Wine Bar, a perfect spot to unwind with friends or work on your laptop. The full bar and delicious snacks, including the charcuterie and flatbread, make for a delightful experience. And let me not forget to mention the outstanding Tiramisu – AHHHH Delicious!
Now, onto the rooms, which I must say came as a pleasant surprise. If you're reading this you can see that the photos speak volumes; these rooms are phenomenal! My room featured a luxurious tub with elegant folding shades, two cozy beds, and premium pillows, (Thank you I didn't not have to bring my own) essential for a stay in a luxury boutique hotel like this. The exposed brick walls added a touch of badassery and charm to the space.
After a relaxing bath and enjoying some Treveri Cellars Sparkling Rosé that I bought from the bar., I indulged in watching 'Sex and the City.' It was a moment of pure bliss that made me wonder why I don't do this more often.I slept really well that night. My bed was a haven for rest. I highly recommend both locals and travelers to experience this historic downtown Ellensburg Hotel.
As I conclude, my stay at this hotel all I can think about is what took me so long and why haven't you booked your long weekend ? This town has so much to offer beyond getting gas and fast food, I dare you to drive a few more miles into our colorful town and see for yourself.
Hotel Windrow is nothing short of exceptional. Stay here, savor the ambiance, the coffee, the snacks, explore our town, and make it a recurring choice for your visits. Trust me, it's an experience worth repeating.
